Although the term biodiversity is relatively new, the biodiversity researches are very old. The Biodiversity is defined by the section 2 of the CBD as: « the variability of living organisms from all sources including, inter alia, aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part: this includes diversity within species and of ecosystems ".
It comes with three levels of organization: the ecological diversity (ecosystems), the specific diversity (species) and the genetic diversity (genes).
